In a series of shocking evetns, former India skipper and ex-BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and his wife Dona Ganguly have received a death threat, triggering concern over the security of the celebrated family.
Sourav Ganguly receives death threat
As per the police complaint filed by the Ganguly familt and Sourav's personal assistant, the letter came to light after it was opened at the former India skipper's office on Monday, August 10. The letter was entirely written in English.
The message allegedly contained serious threats against Ganguly and his family, with the sender using words such as "eliminate" and "finish" while threatening their lives. The disruptive nature of the letter led the family to approach and demand action over the sensitive matter.

The latest threats look like a routine that have continued over the last six months. According to the sources close the developments, similar letters had arrived on several occasions but were dismissed after considering them as messages from overly enthusiastic fans. However, the frequency of the letters and the serious tone of the latest message, raised alarm within the family.

The matter has now been formarly taken up with the concerned authorities, with a written complained submitted at Thakurpur Police Station in Kolkata. Considering seriousness of the atter, the West Bengal government's security department has been informed regarding the situation, with officials being urged to take necessary measures without any delay.
Early findings by the police have revealed some key details regarding the origin of the letters. The threatening communication was delivered to the Ganguly residence through a courier, with the sender identified on the package as Arun Kumar from Belgharia.
Police also examined a contact number mentioned in the letter, which appeared under the same name, Arun Kumar. Now, police are set to verify whether if these details actually belong to the person behind sending the letter.
