Bangladesh's Rishad Hossain revealed that Mitchell has vowed not to return to Pakistan again

Over the last couple of days, tensions between India and Pakistan escalated to new heights, a situation that resulted in the suspension of both the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Consequently, overseas stars participating in PSL 2025 reportedly rushed for safety, with several foreign players reportedly seeking to leave the country immediately.

However, it was learnt that the overseas players urgently sought safety and travelled to Dubai amidst the war-like situation.

Amidst these events, Bangladesh's Rishad Hossain has revealed a specific reaction from New Zealand star batter Daryl Mitchell, stating that Mitchell was terrified by the unfolding situation and reportedly remarked that he would never return to Pakistan.

“Foreign players like Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell, Kushal Perera, David Wiese, Tom Curran… all of them were so frightened… Landing in Dubai, Mitchell told me that he would never go to Pakistan again, especially in this kind of scenario. Overall, they were all horrified,” said Rishad at Dubai Airport, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

According to Rishad Hossain, England cricketer Tom Curran also reportedly experienced a difficult time amidst the situation. Rishad is quoted as saying that the worried English player was visibly distressed and reportedly broke into tears, finding it challenging to be consoled.

“He (Tom Curran) went to the airport, but heard that the airport was closed. Then he started crying like a little child, that it took two or three people to handle him,” he added.

Currently, a cease-fire has been agreed upon by the two nations involved. However, despite this positive development on the political front, the respective cricket leagues, including the IPL, reportedly remain suspended.

Regarding the IPL specifically, the governing body announced that the cash-rich league has been suspended for a period of one week. However, since both India and Pakistan have agreed to immediate ceasefire, BCCI will soon announce the resumption of IPL 2025.
