Australian batter Will Pucovski took a nasty blow on his head after a deadly bouncer struck his head while playing for Victoria in a Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania on Sunday, March 3 which subbed him out of the contest.
Pucovski suffers concussion after lethal head blow
Pucovski had to leave the field hurt, with a score of 0, after a bouncer from Riley Meredith struck his helmet. This occurred on just the second ball he faced during Victoria's attempt to chase down 442 in the second innings.

Injury-marred Pucovski
The 26-year-old, who has had multiple head injuries previously, the latest in a second XI match in January, was hit on the left side of his helmet by a rising ball from Meredith as he turned away from the delivery.
The impact visibly shook him, causing him to kneel on the pitch. Medical personnel quickly attended to him at the center. He was eventually able to stand and walk off the field slowly, wiping his eyes.

“Will is currently in the hands of our medical professionals. We’ll look to provide an update in due course,” a Cricket Victoria spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, Campbell Kellaway came in as a concussion substitute for Pucovski.
After recovering from the head injury he sustained in January, Pucovski made a comeback to score 131 in their Shield game against New South Wales at the SCG last month.
Moreover, he has previously faced challenges related to his mental health. The right-handed batsman has made one Test appearance against India in January 2021.
“The mental health has been a much bigger issue for me than even the concussions. I don’t fear for my long-term health, it’s more the mental health side that’s been the tougher part,” he told the Vic State Cricket podcast.
