Batting first, Pakistan built a promising start as openers Muneeba Ali (13) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (14) safely negotiated the pace attack to carry the side to 27/0 in the opening four overs. What followed, however, was an utter batting collapse, with not a single subsequent batter managing to cross into double figures in a dismal display.
Noticing the early assistance on offer, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur—marking her milestone 150th T2I as captain—promptly turned to her spin attack to turn the tide. The move yielded immediate results, triggering a staggering 6 for 9 collapse that left Pakistan reeling at 36/6 by the end of the 10th over.

India’s slow bowlers ruthlessly pressed the advantage, with wrist-spinners Shafali Verma (1/10) and Prema Rawat (3/9) eschewing big turn to relentlessly attack the stumps with pinpoint accuracy. By the time Deepti Sharma (2/5) entered the attack, Pakistan’s lower order had completely unravelled. Across the 18.1 overs, India’s disciplined attack choked the scoring completely, sending down an extraordinary 78 dot balls.
Muneeba’s dismissal set off the unraveling, as she was completely outwitted after shuffling across her stumps in a desperate bid to free her arms.

Shree Charani then capitalized on the favorable conditions, extracting sharp turn and bounce to tear through the middle order. Gull Feroza fell for a duck trying to hit across the line, offering a simple catch to short third-man, before Shawaal Zulfiqar missed a sweep to be trapped dead in front of her stumps. Unable to break the scoring chokehold, Ayesha Zafar (2) mis-timed an ambitious lofted shot straight to Harmanpreet Kaur at mid-on.
Sadaf Shamas (3) similarly paid the price for trying to hit her way out of trouble on a tricky surface, with Prema Rawat firing in a quick, stump-to-stump delivery to shatter her timber. Pakistan's top hope, skipper Fatima Sana, was removed for a golden duck by a drifting off-break from Deepti Sharma that struck her plumb in front of leg-middle—a decision so clear she opted against reviewing.
To compound their misery, a chaotic communication breakdown between Eyman Fatima (5) and Umm-e Hani (6) resulted in Eyman being comfortably run out at the non-striker's end. Hani soon followed her back to the dugout, completely misjudging the length of a delivery as another failed sweep attempt brought her innings to an end.
Having already dispatched Thailand and Hong Kong China, Harmanpreet Kaur’s squad will look to wrap up the chase efficiently to bolster their net run rate heading into the knockouts.
