Zimbabwe Cricket on August 24 announced their T20I squad for tri-series against Namibia and South Africa. 39-year-old Graeme Cremer has returned to the squad after recovering from a left-arm injury. The tri-series won't feature, Zimbabwe's Test and ODI captain Richard Ngarava. The pacer is yet to recover from a lower back injury.
Another pacer ruled out of the series due to injury is Tanaka Chivanga. He has undergone surgery for an Achilles tendon injury. Zimbabwe have dropped 40-year-old Brendan Taylor who hasn't played a T20I since February 2026.
Kundai Matigimu, who is yet to make his T20I debut, has been picked in the squad. Matigimu had made his Test debut against South Africa last year. He has played 11 T20s so far and bagged as many wickets at an average of 26.45.

When will the tri-series begin?
The tri-series will begin on August 28. Zimbabwe will play their first match on August 29 against South Africa. The tri-series will be played in a round-robin format. If the progress to the final, it is scheduled to take place on September 6.
South Africa all-rounder ruled out
South Africa have sent their second-string side to Nambia which is led by Bjorn Fortuin. South Africa's young star all-rounder Jason Smith has been ruled out of the tri-series due to an adductor muscle strain. Cricket South Africa (CSA) have opted not to name a replacement.
Namibia’s record vs Zimbabwe, South Africa
Namibia are looking to make an impact in the tri-series. Namibia have beaten South Africa in their only T20I clash last year. The Donovan Ferreira-led side lost to Namibia by four wickets in a last-ball thriller. Namibia have won two T20I series against Zimbabwe. But, last year, they won the three-T20I series away from home.
Namibia are currently ranked 17th in ICC Men's T20I rankings. They can move up a few places if they manage to win the tri-series.
