Canada’s 19-year-old Yuvraj Samra entered the records with a century against New Zealand in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash. Yuvraj became the youngest centurion in T20 World Cup history. He broke Pakistan's out-of-favour batter Ahmed Shehzad's record. A 22-year-old Shehzad had scored a century against Bangladesh in the 2014 edition.

Yuvraj was eventually dismissed on the second ball of the final over by Jacob Duffy as James Neesham took an excellent catch.

Yuvraj joins Nissanka’s list

This is the second century of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. On February 16, Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka scored an unbeaten 52-ball 100 against Australia in the successful run chase. Yuvraj is also the 12th batter to score a century in T20 World Cups.

Yuvraj is fifth Canadian batter to score a T20I century but first to do it against a full-member nation. Aaron Johnson, Matthew Spoors, Ravinderpal Singh and Rayyan Pathan are others.
