England's veteran spinner Adil Rashid stormed into history book as he completed his 400 wickets in T20 format. The 37-year-old leg-spinner notched this feat during a T20 World Cup 2026 clash against West Indies at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Rashid completed the milestone by taking the wicket of Roston Chase in the 10th over.
Adil Rashid completes 400 wickets in T20s
This achievement makes Rashid the first England spinner to take 400 scalps in T20s. Overall he became only the second English bowler to hit the landmark, joining his longtime teammate Chris Jordan. While Jordan currently leads with 446 wickets, Rashid reached his 400th scalp in significantly fewer matches, achieving the feat in his 358th game compared to Jordan's 431. Rashid's consistency is further highlighted by a career average of just over 22 and an impressive economy rate that remains under eight runs per over.

Beyond his overall T20 success, Rashid is also climbing the ranks in the international arena. Just days before this milestone, on February 3, he became the first Englishman to reach 150 T20I wickets during a series against Sri Lanka. Currently sitting at 151 international scalps, he is part of an elite global group that includes Rashid Khan, Tim Southee, and Wanindu Hasaranga. With Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan trailing just behind at 149 wickets, Rashid’s record-breaking run continues to place him at the forefront of the world's most dangerous spin bowlers.
A significant part of Rashid’s milestone can be traced back to his consistent dominance in the Vitality Blast, England’s top-tier domestic T20 competition. In that tournament alone, he has collected 118 wickets across 110 appearances, maintaining a solid average of 24.51. One of the more surprising statistics of his career is that, despite accumulating 400 total wickets, Rashid has achieved this through relentless consistency rather than single-game bursts, as he has yet to record a five-wicket haul in the T20 format.
