India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has completed his 500 international wickets during the semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2026 at iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Bumrah completed his 500th international scalp while bowling the fifth over of England’s innings and picked up a wicket on the first ball of his spell.
Bumrah dismissed England captain Harry Brook, who tried to counterattack him, attempting for a six; he was caught by Axar Patel after scoring only 7 runs from six balls.

With that, Bumrah becomes the eighth bowler to pick 500 international wickets after Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Kapil Dev, Ravindra Jadeja, Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath respectively. Here are the Indian bowlers who picked up the most wickets.

Coming back to the match, after being asked to bat, India wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson smashed his second successive fifty, firing India to a mammoth 253 for seven in the T20 World Cup semifinal against England. The wicketkeeper batter scored 89 off 42.
