'We're not about results. We're not about winning or losing, we're about entertainment': England batter's bold statement ahead of Lord's Test

Ahead of the second Ashes Test against Australia, England opening batter Zak Crawley has made a few bold statements. Despite losing the opening match of the series by two wickets at Edgbaston, the English right-handed batter is confident in the Three Lions' ability to win the upcoming Lord's Test and level the series 1-1. Not just that, Crawley reckons that his side will demolish the Baggy Greens by a margin of 150 runs at the 'mecca of cricket'.

"I think we'll win (at Lord's)," Crawley told Times Radio.

"I think the pitch will suit us a bit more so I think we'll win by, I don't know, 150 runs?" he added.

After Ben Stokes' men were defeated at Edgbaston, their 'Bazball' approach was widely criticised. Stokes' decision to declare the innings on the opening day of the Test match, in particular, was not received well by the former English cricketers and certain sections of fans. Ultimately, the declaration was one of the factors that decided the outcome of the match.

Crawley affirmed that this current England side's main objective to entertain the onlookers, and that winning and losing doesn't hold that much value.

"We're not about results. We're not about winning or losing, we're about entertainment. That's why we took (this loss) better than other losses perhaps, because it was great for the game," Crawley continued.

"Of course we're there to win and it helps our brand and what we're trying to do. If we win, we get more traction. But I don't think we've lost anything this week other than a game of cricket," the opening batter added.

The Lord's Test between England and Australia is scheduled to begin on June 28 (Wednesday). Stokes' team would be under pressure to level the series as going down 2-0 can prove to be catastrophic for the hosts.
