Vaibhav Suryavanshi registered his second half-century of the U19 World Cup and played a remarkable knockk against Zimbabwe on Tuesday. The left-hand batter brought up his half-century after facing just  24 deliveries, hitting four boundaries and sixes as India got off to a flying start after being invited to bat first.

Suryavanshi opened the Men in Blue's innings alongside Aaron George and the duo scored 44 runs in the first four overs before the latter got dismissed in the fifth over. The left-hand batter then formed a solid stand alongside skipper Ayush Mhatre and the team soon reached the 100-run mark.

Suryavanshi was the aggressor among the two and went on to reach his fifty after facing just 24 deliveries. It was yet another explosive knock from the teenage sensation, who just cannot stop scoring at the moment. However, India was struck with a  double blow in the 11th over as left-arm pacer Tatenda Chimuguro got the wickets of both Suryavanshi and Mhatre.

The 14-year-old departed back to the pavilion after scoring 52 runs from just 30 deliveries as India got restricted to 101/3 at one stage. They looked to be in a spot of bother when Vedant Trivedi was dismissed for 15 runs a few overs later, but the duo of Vihaan Malhotra and Abhigyan Kundu steadied the ship. The two formed a strong partnership and went on to score valiant half-centuries as India crossed the 200-run mark without losing any more wickets.

Meanwhile, though Suryavanshi failed to start the tournament on an impressive note and got dismissed for just two runs against USA, he picked up his form in the next two games. The teenager first played a robust innings of 72 runs from 67 deliveries against Bangladesh before playing an important knock of 40 against New Zealand as India won the match comfortably by 7 wickets through DLS method. He has made a great start to the Super 6 stage and will be aiming to play another big knock in the side's next fixture that will be against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 1.
