Shapoor Zadran was suffering from hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis or HLH, a rare and life-threatening immune disorder that causes severe hyperinflammation and organ failure. He died in a hospital in Delhi NCR, where he was undergoing treatment. Zadran was a crucial figure in Afghanistan cricket, playing a key role in the country's rise on the international stage and inspiring many young cricketers.

Throughout his career, Zadran represented Afghanistan in 44 one-day internationals and 36 T20 internationals. He took 43 wickets in ODIs and 37 wickets in T20Is, known for his fiery pace and passionate bowling.
