Story Highlights:

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 175 runs in 2nd Test vs West Indies.

Yashasvi Jaiswal got run-out in second Test against West Indies.

India's young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal got unlucky on Day 2 of the second Test clash against West Indies at Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi. The southpaw who scored 175 runs tried to take a quick single by tapping the ball inside the 30-yard circle. However, skipper Shubman Gill didn’t respond to the call, and Jaiswal kept running without checking the other end. Jaiswal's furious running resulted in him a run out, and the video of the incident is now going viral on social media.

Fans are blaming Jaiswal for the confusion, saying it was his mistake, not Gill’s. Notably, this is the second time Jaiswal has been run out after getting set on the crease. Last time the batter misjudged a run during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia, when he was batting alongside Virat Kohli.

Jaiswal resumed his innings on 171. In the second over of Day 2, West Indies bowler Jayden Seales bowled a delivery that Jaiswal gently pushed towards mid-off. Thinking there was a run, Jaiswal set off immediately. Gill, however, stayed at the non-striker's end, watching the ball closely and not moving. Even though Jaiswal saw Gill not running, he didn’t stop and continued towards the other end. As a result, he was run out and had to walk back to the pavilion. His innings ended in disappointment, just 25 runs short of a double century. He scored 175 off 258 balls, hitting 22 boundaries.
