The possibility of Hardik Pandya joining Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 season has gathered further momentum, with reports suggesting the franchise has tabled a blockbuster trade proposal worth more than ₹20 crore.
According to the report, CSK have proposed a package involving Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, and ₹10 crore in cash, after refusing to part ways with one of their brightest young stars.

CSK unwilling to sacrifice Ayush Mhatre in Hardik Pandya negotiations
As per a report by the Hindustan Times, Mumbai Indians initially demanded Ayush Mhatre along with cash in exchange for their captain. However, the report claimed that CSK have made it clear they are not prepared to include the teenage batter in any deal, considering him a key part of the franchise's future.
Instead, Chennai have reportedly offered Shivam Dube, Dewald Brevis, and ₹10 crore to secure Pandya's services. The proposed package is believed to carry an overall valuation of more than ₹20 crore, making it one of the biggest trade offers in IPL history if completed.
Mumbai Indians seek major return as negotiations continue
The report further stated that Mumbai Indians view Ayush Mhatre as an important long-term investment after the youngster impressed during IPL 2026 with an aggressive strike rate close to 180.
While Hardik remains one of Indian cricket's most valuable all-rounders due to his ability to contribute with both bat and ball while also leading a side, his IPL 2026 campaign was below expectations.
The all-rounder managed 206 runs and picked up four wickets during the season, leading to questions over whether CSK are investing in his long-term value rather than recent performances.

As things stand, neither franchise has confirmed any agreement. The report added that if negotiations between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings fail to reach a conclusion, franchises such as Kolkata Knight Riders are monitoring the situation closely and could enter the race for Hardik Pandya's signature.
