India have reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the latest ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after registering a commanding series-clinching victory over Zimbabwe. The Men in Blue returned to the summit less than two weeks after slipping behind England following their disappointing tour of the United Kingdom.
The latest rankings update comes as another major boost for Shreyas Iyer's side, who have bounced back strongly after enduring a difficult T20I series in England.

India reclaim No. 1 spot in latest ICC T20I Rankings
India climbed back to the top of the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after defeating Zimbabwe by 90 runs in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series at the Harare Sports Club.
The reigning T20 World Cup 2026 champions had dropped to second place after suffering a 0-4 series defeat against England earlier this month.
India now have 268 rating points, level with England, but occupy the top position after the ICC's decimal-point calculation placed them ahead of the Three Lions.
The victory over Zimbabwe completed a quick turnaround for India, who managed to regain the No. 1 ranking within a fortnight of losing it.
Ishan Kishan continues record-breaking run with match-winning knock
India's return to the summit was powered by another outstanding batting display from Ishan Kishan, who scored 81 runs after India elected to bat first.
The wicketkeeper-batter, who currently tops the ICC Men's T20I Batter Rankings, helped India post 219/5 in 20 overs, while vice-captain Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 60 off just 29 deliveries.
Kishan's latest innings also saw him move to 783 T20I runs in 2026, taking him past Virat Kohli's tally of 781 runs in 2022 to become India's third-highest run-scorer in a calendar year in T20Is.
Only Suryakumar Yadav (1,164 runs in 2022) and Abhishek Sharma (859 runs in 2025) remain ahead of him on the all-time Indian list.
The 26-year-old will have another opportunity to climb further when India take on Zimbabwe in the third and final T20I, where he also needs 67 more runs to surpass Sanju Samson's record for the most T20I runs by an Indian designated wicketkeeper-batter in a calendar year.
