Batting first, Dumbleton CC unleashed an extraordinary assault from the outset, finishing with 417/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Ewan Gegg led the carnage with an unbeaten 206 off just 55 deliveries, smashing 13 boundaries and 23 maximums in one of the most destructive T20 innings ever witnessed.

He received strong support from Dan Holland, who hammered 122 from only 37 balls, while Tom Kelly's brisk 64 off 25 deliveries laid the perfect foundation. Collectively, Dumbleton's batters cleared the ropes an astonishing 47 times.

Hatherley and Reddings CC responded with 229 before being bowled out, handing Dumbleton a commanding 188-run victory. Harry Bloomfield emerged as the lone bright spot for the chasing side, scoring 109 from 48 balls.

Reflecting on the remarkable contest, Gegg told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"We all said it's one of the weirdest and [most] fantastic games of cricket we've seen. We don't see it being broken for a long time. It was such an odd game."
