Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has grabbed headlines with a light-hearted jibe at Neymar's injury-hit FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, saying that the Santos star has turned out to be first ever "work-from-home" player because of his prolonged absence from the pitch.

During an event in Belo Horizonte, Lula was announcing fresh investments in the country's healthcare system. While having an interactive session with the crowd, the Brazilian president questioned a young boy who he felt was the best player in the national team.

After the Brazilian national team secured a commanding 3-0 win over Haiti in their second Group C clash on Saturday June 20 head coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Neymar will have an individual training session before joining the full session with the team on Monday.
While continuing, Ancelotti expressed confidence in Neymar's availability for selection in their next game against Scotland. With star forward Raphinha getting out because of an injury, Neymar's arrival becomes an important factor in Brazil's campaign. However, it will be interesting to see if Neymar finds a place in the starting lineup.
