Germany skipper Joshua Kimmich admitted that a shocking issue has emerged during their campaign in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026, revealing that the sighting of a poisonous snake near the team's base camp in Winston-Salem has become a talking point among players. As per BBC, not only Germany players, even the members of the Switzerland and Norway squads also faced similar fears during the competition.
While revealing the shocking incident, Joshua made a hilarious comparison between the USA and Germany, saying they don't have to worry about animals in their native country. "In Germany, you worry about tactics, injuries, and your next opponent. Here, you also have to think about what might be hiding in the grass," Kimmich said.
According to the BBC, the Germany national team saw a copperhead, which is a poisonous snake commonly found in North Carolina. In all honesty, this incident is very shocking as these kinds of things are not usual in the sport.

However, The Julian Nagelsmann's side kicked off their campaign in the FIFA World Cup on a fiery note, as they claimed a dominating 7-1 win against tournament debutants Curacao on June 14 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. After claiming a thumping 7-1 win over Curacao, Germany will lock horns against Ivory Coast on Saturday, June 20, at the Toronto Stadium in Canada which is going to be their second game in the Group E.
