Troubling times for Brazil in FIFA World Cup 2026

According to ESPN, the star winger is unlikely to appear in Brazil's next game against Haiti on Saturday, June 20 (as per IST). The report claims that the star forward is not training with the squad. However, he went through some scans to assess his calf strain on Monday to determine his accurate return timeline and the results have not been confirmed.

As of now, it looks unlikely to see Neymar on the pitch for the upcoming two group-stage games, one against Haiti and the second against Scotland, as the Brazilian side are hoping that the Santos star could come back for the knockout stages.

Before the 1-1 draw against Morocco, head coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed that "Neymar is working very hard to recover as soon as possible,". He went on to say that the side believes he will recover by next week.

Brazil's toothless attack against Morocco

Brazil kicked off their campaign in the FIFA World Cup 2026 on a disappointing note, as they claimed a 1-1 draw against Morocco, it was evident that the Brazilian side missed Neymar's experience in a caged game like that.
