FC Barcelona won the 2025-26 La Liga title following their stunning record-setting season. Meanwhile, they not only took the title, but one of the club's players also bagged the La Liga Player of the Season award following his outstanding performance.

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has been named La Liga Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season, the league announced on Friday. The 18-year-old Barcelona forward edged out strong competition to claim the prestigious individual award following a standout campaign in which he delivered 16 goals and 12 assists in just 28 league appearances.

Yamal’s 28 goal involvements played a major role in Barcelona’s title challenge, showcasing his explosive dribbling, creativity, and maturity beyond his years. Many have described his performances as “generational,” with the youngster consistently producing match-winning moments on the biggest stage.

The award, widely regarded as one of the most coveted in Spanish football, underscores Yamal’s rapid rise since breaking into the first team.  This latest accolade adds to Yamal’s growing trophy cabinet and further cements his status as one of world football’s brightest prospects.
