FC Barcelona has received some unfortunate news just ahead of the upcoming club football season. While the rest of the clubs are preparing for a comeback, the La Liga defending champions have suffered a big blow that will last for months.
Barcelona star suffers ACL tear; out for 6-7 months
Roony Bardghji has suffered a torn ACL and will be sidelined for the next six to seven months, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 20-year-old Swedish international sustained the injury during training on Monday. The diagnosis is a major blow for the right-winger, who had been expected to leave the club on loan in search of regular first-team football.
Bardghji joined the Spanish giants from FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2025. Despite showing promise, he struggled for consistent minutes under head coach Hansi Flick. Club sources indicated he had been left out of the recent friendly trip to Italy while a temporary move was being arranged.
This marks the second ACL injury of the young player’s career. He previously tore the same ligament in April 2024 while at Copenhagen, missing almost a year of action before returning. The setback ends any immediate plans for a loan departure and will keep Bardghji out of competitive action for a significant portion of the 2026-27 season.
Meanwhile, the five-time UEFA Champions League winners are busy in the transfer window and are trying to sign Manchester City star Rodri. The Sky Blues player, who is coming off winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Spain, is also a prime target of Real Madrid; however, with Los Blancos slowing down, the rivals have become the top favorite to get the player.
