Pep Guardiola knows what to do amid the English Premier League title race, even before Arsenal dropped points against Bournemouth in the setback. Mikel Arteta’s side missed the chance to go 12 points clear at the top of the table on Saturday following the 1-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
This has made it even easier for the Sky Blues to follow the Gunners closely as they face Chelsea today. Guradiola has a perfect time as he has eight games remaining. The team needs to be perfect in the run to overhaul Arsenal in the title race. The former FC Barcelona boss believes a loss against the Blues will be over for the side, and hence, it's a must-win match at the Emirates Stadium.
Guardiola believes Man City faces crucial match vs Chelsea at Stamford amid Arsenal’s title setback
Ahead of the Arsenal-Bournemouth clash, where the Gunners were expected to drop points, Guardiola said:
“If we don’t win in Stamford Bridge, maybe you don't need to make the press conference before Arsenal… it will be over”.
The Spanish head coach added:
“Everybody knows it. You know it, I know it, the players know it, everybody knows it in England”.
City looks to be finding its best rhythm and taking advantage of the Arsenal, losing out on the chance. Arteta’s squad has fallen in three of their last four games in all competitions. On the other hand, City is coming off stunning performances over Arteta’s side in the Carabao Cup, eliminating them from the competition and defeating Liverpool in the FA Cup. It remains to be seen if Guardiola’s side can do it again this season.
