The proudest moments from Lionel Messi's career would be winning the UEFA Champions League four times and winning the prestigious FIFA World Cup in 2022. During his long and illustrious career, he has played for some of the best coaches of the modern era which includes the likes of Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager has dominated the leagues in Spain, Germany and now England while coaching for Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. 

During an interview with the RAC1 in 2019, the 37-year-old forward revealed the two best managers he has played for in his footballing career.

Lionel Messi has played for high-profile managers during his time at Barcelona which includes Frank Rijkaard, Guardiola, Tito Vilanova and Ernesto Valverde. During the interview with RAC1, Messi was asked to name the best club manager of his career and he said,

Guardiola is the best of all. Luis Enrique is a very close [second].

While playing for Barcelona when Guardiola was the coach (2008-2012), Messi won three La-Liga titles and two Champions League triumphs. Both the times Barcelona defeated Manchester United in the finals of the Champions League. 

I was fortunate to live many at different stages of my life but I think the Guardiola era was one of my best moments, Messi further added.

 

 

Luis Enrique was managing Barcelona from 2014 to 2017 and under him, Messi won nine trophies, including the 2015 Champions League trophy. During Luis Emrique's tenure, Barcelona's front three were a nemesis as Messi was accompanied by Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Lionel Messi became the first-team player at Barcelona in the 2004-05 season as he was the youngest ever to feature for the club at just 17 years old. He went on to play for another 17 long years at the Catalan giants, winning 35 major trophies which included 10 La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey titles and three European Super Cups. 

Messi joined PSG in the summer of 2021 where he went on to lift another three trophies that included two league titles. His time in the French capital was limited as he joined Inter Miami in 2023. He has been playing in the MLS ever since his joining.
