Barcelona winger Raphinha has accused referees of robbing his team in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final exit to Atlético Madrid. The player has claimed the tie required "three times the effort" even to compete. Even though the Barcelona star was not involved in the squad due to injury, he did not keep quiet in the post-match interview.

Raphinha claims Barca were ‘robbed’ in UCL exit to Atletico Madrid

Raphinha, sidelined for the tie with a hamstring injury sustained on international duty, did not hold back in his post-match interview.

“The game was completely ROBBED”.

Raphinha added:

“It was tough, especially when we see that we need to put in three times the effort to win the match”.

The Brazilian made the comments shortly after Barcelona's 2-1 second-leg victory away on Tuesday night, which proved insufficient as they fell 3-2 on aggregate. Goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres gave the hosts hope, but Atlético's first-leg 2-0 lead at Camp Nou, with Barcelona playing much of the second leg with 10 men, sealed the elimination.

The loss ends Barcelona's European campaign under Hansi Flick, despite a strong domestic season. Diego Simeone’s team advances to the semi-finals, with players like Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth key in the first leg. On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain has knocked Liverpool out of the UCL following a 2-0 win in the second leg, all thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s brace.
