Real Madrid and FC Bayern Munich will face off each other at the Allianz Arena for a place in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League. Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, has already advanced, defeating Liverpool in the second leg.
As they await the winners between the two sides, the French club’s manager was asked which team he would prefer to face in the semifinals.
PSG boss Luis Enrique reveals team he wants to face in UCL semifinal; Real Madrid or Bayern?
Luis Enrique has declined to pick a favorite ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. The former FC Barcelona head coach provided a humorous superstition born from experience.
With PSG having already advanced to the semi-finals, the Spanish coach revealed he will watch the decisive tie from Paris while enjoying a cold beer, rather than risk "jinxing" the outcome by supporting one side. He said:
"Real or Bayern? Every time I prefer one team, we have to play… against the other one.”
The PSG manager added:
"I will watch the game in Paris drinking a good cold beer."
Meanwhile, the second leg at Anfield proved equally one-sided. PSG remained in control despite the hostile atmosphere, and Ousmane Dembélé delivered the decisive blows with a late brace, securing a 2-0 win on the night and confirming the 4-0 aggregate victory.
