Real Madrid are internally assessing the possibility of bringing back club legend Toni Kroos. Not as a player, though, even when a lot of fans would love to sign him back. The club is exploring bringing back the former midfielder in a senior management or hierarchy position.
The German midfielder, who retired from professional football in 2024 after a glittering career at the Santiago Bernabéu, has not yet received any formal proposal from the club.
Real Madrid exploring Toni Kroos return in management role
As per Spanish outlet Diario AS, Real Madrid is bringing back Toni Kroos at the club in the management/hierarchy area. Kroos spent a decade with the Los Blancos following his 2014 move from Bayern Munich, winning five UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga crowns, and multiple domestic trophies.
Renowned for his precise passing, tactical intelligence, and leadership on the pitch, the 36-year-old was a cornerstone of some of the club's most successful teams. His emotional farewell match at the Bernabéu last year drew widespread acclaim from fans and teammates alike.
While no concrete offer has been reported, the internal discussions signal Real Madrid's interest in leveraging German's deep football knowledge and understanding of the club's culture in an off-field capacity.
Kroos has remained largely out of the spotlight since retirement, occasionally commenting on football matters but showing no immediate signs of pursuing a coaching or executive path until now. It remains to be seen what happens next and when the former player returns to the club.
