Fuente told reporters after the match at AT&T Stadium:
“France are great… but today they had to face the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD.”
The result sends Spain into the World Cup final for the first time since 2010. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, with Pedro Porro adding a second goal in the 58th minute.
Spain controlled much of the contest, frustrating a star-studded French side and advancing with a clean sheet. The victory marks another chapter in Spain’s strong tournament form, having conceded just one goal prior to the semi-final.
