Barcelona forward Ferran Torres wants FC Barcelona to prove their full commitment to the player in order to keep him in Spain amid the rumors surrounding him. The FIFA World Cup hero, who scored in the final against defending champions Argentina to lead Spain to their second title, is rumored to be with Paris Saint-Germain.

Torres has called on the club to demonstrate its desire to keep him by opening contract negotiations. Speaking to NBC, the Spain international said:
“What does Barça have to do? Show that they really love me, that they’ve come to negotiate.”
The Spanish star added:
“In the end, it’s all about talking.”
Torres remains under contract at the Catalan club until June 2027. The 26-year-old has left his future open while on holiday, with a return to training expected around mid-August. Meanwhile, PSG, managed by former Spain coach Luis Enrique, have shown strong interest in the forward.
Barca reportedly plan to begin formal renewal discussions in September, after the summer transfer window closes, citing Financial Fair Play restrictions. Any extension would also trigger an additional payment of around €7-8 million to Manchester City from the original 2022 transfer agreement.
The comments come as Torres enjoys elevated status following his World Cup heroics and a productive 2025-26 season with the Spanish side. The La Liga side continues to view him as an important squad member under Hansi Flick, while the player has previously indicated he is in no rush and can decide on his next steps from a position of strength.
