Upon receiving the news, Messi left Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a private jet and traveled urgently to Argentina. The Inter Miami forward and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo arrived at the Islas Malvinas International Airport in Rosario, Santa Fe province. The two were seen exiting the plane as they walked towards the car.
Several football clubs and accounts have given tribute to Jorge’s passing, including Messi's former team, FC Barcelona, and arch-rivals Real Madrid. Family members have requested privacy as they prepare for a private funeral scheduled for Monday at Cementerio El Prado.
