India to host Olympics in 2036
The ruling party at the centre announced its sports agenda through its manifesto, Sankalp Patra. The manifesto outlines a roadmap for the development of sports as it committed that it will officially host the Olympics in India in 2023 if the BJP comes to power.
"We will facilitate IOA to bid for hosting the Olympic Games in 2036, and develop sports infrastructure like stadiums and state-of-the-art training centres to host major international sporting events," the party's manifesto said.
