Paris Olympics 2024 is scheduled to start in less than a week and there will be 117 athletes representing India in the marquee event hosted by Paris. The Indian contingent will look to break the record of all medals. There will be 24 Indian Army soldiers who will represent India in Paris for the multinational event.
This is the first time in the history of the Olympics that two Indian women athletes will represent the nation in the biggest sporting event Olympics which will start from July 26. Here is the complete list of Army persons competing for India in the Olympics.
Neeraj Chopra is Subedar
India's Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra is also a soldier in the Indian army. Neeraj is the biggest Indian Athlete who won a Gold medal in athletics in the Olympics. He has won gold medals in the 2023 Asian Games, 2023 World Athletics Championship, 2024 Diamond League and 2024 Paavo Nurmi Games. Neeraj is a Subedar in the Indian Army. Neeraj will look to repeat his heroics in the upcoming Olympics which will be hosted by Paris.
Two female players participating in the Olympics
The two Army players participating in the Olympics are Jasmine Lamboria and CPO Ritika Hooda. Commonwealth Games 2022 bronze medalist boxer Jasmine Lamboria is a Havildar. While 2023 Asian Wrestling Championship bronze medalist Ritika Hooda is a CPO.

Apart from them, other players of the Army include Subedar Amit Panghal (Boxing), CPO Tejinder Pal Singh Toor (Shotput), Subedar Avinash Sable (3000 meters steeplechase), CPO Mohammad Anas Yahiya, PO Mohammad Ajmal, Subedar Santosh Kumar and JWO Mizo Chako Kurien (Men's four times 400 meters relay), JWO Abdullah Abubakar (Triple jump), Subedar Tarundeep Rai and Dheeraj Bommadevara (Archery) and Naib Subedar Sandeep Singh (Shooting).
