Asian Games 2023: Tokyo Olympian Vishnu Sarvanan and Neha Thakur shimmer on Day 2 of sailing

At the Asian Games 2023's sailing spectacle on Friday, September 22, India showcased a commendable performance, with Tokyo Olympian Vishnu Sarvanan leading the charge. However, India had a mixed on Day 2 of the event. Sarvanan, previously securing the 20th position among 35 competitors in the last Olympics' men's laser segment, achieved a remarkable victory in his third race on the event's second day. This triumph catapulted him to the forefront of the 13-competitor field in the men's dinghy category. Enthusiasts eagerly await the outcome of the remaining four races in this segment.

 

Further adding to India's achievements, Neha Thakur made her mark in the girl's dinghy event, which comprises eight participants. After clinching her fourth race on day two, she firmly secured the second position. This promising placement raises hopes for her ascent to the top in the upcoming races.

Additionally, the women's windsurfer RS:X saw Ishwariya Ganesh demonstrating her skills as she clinched the third spot. Similarly, the women's skiff event spotlighted the pair of Shital Verma and Harshita Tomar, who also bagged the third position in their category. Both categories have two races left, ensuring that the anticipation remains high.
