UFC Hall of Famer Donald Cerrone has made a fascinating return to the drug-free testing pool, with an aim to script a "better ending". One of the most active fighters of his time, Cowboy Cerrone last graced the Octagon in 2022 at UFC 276, where he lost to Jim Miller and announced his retirement in the ring afterwards. Since then he has endeavoured in the film industry and tasted success there as well.
Donald Cerrone To Script a Return To The Octagon in 2025
Donald Cerrone is focused on making a UFC return in 2025. The 41-year-old, who has had an exceptional stint with the promotion from 2010 to 2022, garnering 23 wins in the process, still has some steam left for a brawl inside the Octagon.
“It’s not a Comeback!! Just a better Ending,” Cerrone said in an Instagram post.
During an interaction on The Pacman Jones Show, Cerrone revealed the promise that he made to his wife that had to do with his decision to return to the fight base.
“I promised the wife. No matter what happens, no matter the outcome, two more and that’s it,” Cerrone said. “I think it will be 185 [pounds], we’ll see how my weight maintains when I start picking up training.”
Cerrone hasn't fought in the Middleweight division before but at this stage in his career, the 185lbs field gives an ideal outlook for him.
UFC CEO Dana White, who in the past has always opposed the narrative of ageing fighters returning to the scene, isn't thrilled with the decision of Donald Cerrone to return to the ring. Nevertheless, the matchmakers may soon put him on a card.
Donald Cerrone's Fight Record
The veteran has fought 55 times in his career, winning 36 and losing 17 of his fights, with two ending in a no-contest. Aside from MMA, Donald Cerrone has tested the Kickboxing and Boxing scenes of the fight world. While he carries an outstanding 29-1 record in Kickboxing, he could leave a lasting impression in the field of boxing. He has fought only once in the boxing ring and ended up on the losing side.
