In a series interesting updates, Indian badminton stars have been handed their seedings for the upcoming BWF World Championships, set to be held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium from August 17 to 23. Star Indian shuttler, PV Sindhu has been named the ninth seed in the women's singles draw, while the experienced men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, will enter the competition as the fifth seeds.
The Indian contingent will be represented by two entries in every discipline at the BWF World Championship, with four of them receiving seedings. Lakshya Sen has been given the 14th seed in men's singles. On the other hand, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto are seeded 15th are seeded 15th in the mixed doubles category.

How the qualification and seedings were decided?
Players earned qualification for the competition through the BWF World Rankings dated April 28, 2026. The final seedings, however, were finalised on the based of rankings issued on July 28.
