WoMEN Sports Foundation (WSF) successfully completed Project FUTURE STARS, an initiative aimed at supporting athletes at the grassroots level through archery equipment aid and nutrition support. Through this initiative, WSF continues its commitment towards empowering young sporting talent and strengthening the grassroots sports ecosystem in India.
WSF's Initiative to support grassroots athletes with better nutrition & gear
Under the initiative, professional archery equipment and gear were provided to a promising archer to support training and performance. Nutrition support and supplements were also distributed to athletes from different sports disciplines to assist in fitness, recovery, and sports participation.
The project was supported under the CSR initiative of Railway Energy Management Company Ltd. (REMCL), a PSU under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
During the event, WSF Chairman Piyush Sachdeva highlighted the critical need to bolster grassroots sports within the country to help build a stronger sporting foundation.
“A strong foundation is essential for success in any field, and Indian sports also need a robust grassroots structure for long-term growth and achievement. If we want to develop future champions, we must improve infrastructure at the school and college levels, encourage regular competitions, and increase access to modern sports equipment. WSF Project FUTURE STARS is a meaningful initiative aimed at supporting young athletes with this vision in mind,” WSF Chairman Piyush Sachdeva said.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment towards strengthening grassroots sports development and encouraging emerging talent.
