Real Madrid’s home stadium, Santiago Bernabeu, is moving forward in its desire to become a benchmark for sporting events. The stadium is all set to become a tennis court for the upcoming major event. The home ground for the Spanish giants will let tennis superstars train just ahead of the second Grand Slam of the year, the French Open. 

Real Madrid’s Bernabeu to become training ground for Mutua Madrid Open 2026 

The Mutua Madrid Open is the upcoming tournament that will be the epicentre of world tennis in the last week of April and the first days of May. The Masters 1000 event, where the players begin their clay season just ahead of the Roland Garros major, will arrive at the new stage, which is the Bernabeu.  

According to a report by Marca, big stars will be able to train at the home stadium of the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners. The stadium is all set to be adapted from April 23 to 30 so that the tennis stars can train in the mornings in such a great setting.

Real Madrid will host Alaves in La Liga on either the 21st or 22nd of April, before the stadium is adapted for the tennis players. The team will not return home in La Liga until May 13. Additionally, in case Alvaro Arbeloa’s side eliminates Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, their first leg will be away, while the return leg will be after the Madrid Open is concluded.
