Iga Swiatek encountered an unexpected moment at the ongoing Australian Open 2026, and this was captured on camera, which has been making rounds on the internet. The World No. 2 tennis star arrived at the venue without her tournament accreditation, after which she was denied entry for a short time before she revived her accreditation.

Following the protocol, the Pole star was initially denied her entry, which lasted briefly before she was allowed. This moment has caught everyone’s attention, creating a light-hearted, relatable moment for the tennis fans as even the multiple the multiple time Grand Slam champion can have the most relatable slip-ups. 

Hence, even though she was Swaitek, she had to prove that she actually was Iga Swaitek following the short verification. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old is all set to face Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals of the first Grand Slam of the year at Melbourne Park. 

The Polish star is coming off a 6-0, 6-3 win over Maddison Inglis in the Round of 16 of the tournament at the Rod Laver Arena. The six-time major winner is yet to win a Grand Slam in Australia. She reached the semifinals twice, in 2022 and in 2025.
