The Italian star came back from a set down against the French Open champion in a nearly four-hour contest. Zverev took the opening set in a tense tie-break, but Sinner responded strongly, levelling the match before dominating the later stages.

A slip by Zverev appeared to affect his mobility in the third set, allowing Sinner to pull away. The victory further cements Sinner's place among tennis's modern greats, as he continues his dominant run at the top of the game. The Italian has now won five major titles in just over two years.
