36-year-old Novak Djokovic has proved that age is just a number with his singles No. 1 crown in ATP rankings history. On April 8, Djokovic broke Roger Federer’s world record to become the oldest world No. 1 in ATP rankings. On the other side, 42-year-old Indian Rohan Bopanna currently tops the spot for doubles.
Now, Djokovic holds the record for the most weeks (420) spent as the top-ranked male player. He surpassed Federer 310 weeks way behind.
Djokovic has clinched 24 Grand Slam titles which are the highest in tennis history and the most by anyone in the Open era. Federer surpassed Pete Sampras’ men’s record of 14 major championships and retired with 20. Rafael Nadal has 22 Grand Slam Men's singles titles and Djokovic overtook him.

Djokovic enters the Monte Carlo Masters
Djokovic is preparing to defend his title at the French Open, which will commence on May 26. This will mark Djokovic's first game since he parted ways with coach Goran Ivanisevic. This week, he enters the Monte Carlo Masters clay-court tournament.
ATP Tour has shared a video on ‘X’ (Formerly known as Twitter) in which Djokovic and Bopanna highlighted the importance of experience and dedication. Djokovic also lavished praise on Bopanna’s commitment to training and expressed hope for future collaborations in India.
"It's not really balanced. It's not 50-50. He brings more years to the 80. But I think we're still going strong," Djokovic said.
"It's great for Serbian tennis and Indian tennis and hopefully we can do something in India soon, we can play there. I really look forward to it. It's amazing. We are old, but gold!" Djokovic added.

Djokovic, who last clinched the Monte Carlo title in 2015, failed to go past the quarter-finals in his past seven appearances at the ATP Masters 1000 event. The top seed is determined to make a strong start against Roman Safiullin or a qualifier in the opening match.
Meanwhile, in the Monte-Carlo Masters doubles competition, the duo of Bopanna-Matthew Ebden will take on Marcelo Arevalo-Mate Pavic on April 10. Bopanna-Matthew pair is leading the charge and seeking their third title of the year following victories at the Australian Open and the Miami Open.
