Mike Vrabel had an amazing debut as the coach of the New England Patriots. He led the team to win the AFC Championship while playing against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. However, they failed to win the Lombardi Trophy following a 29-13 loss against Mike Macdonald's team.
Mike Vrabel talks about his game plan
During Thursday's press conference, Vrabel discussed his game plan and preparation for the upcoming season. He said that they are aiming to improve on a daily basis as a unit while also focusing on developing a talented young roster. However, this plan faces a tough reality.
"You have to start over," Vrabel said. "This whole thing starts over in 10 weeks. The offseason program starts in 10 weeks. That's how I look at this. ... That's the reality of it. We have a group of guys that played a lot of football. We have a lot of guys that didn't played a lot of football.
"We're looking for the better, younger, cheaper player every day. And t he players that we have are trying to not let that happen. And that's the dynamic and that's the business in the National Football League.
Mike Vrabel's side struggled to find a breakthrough against the Seahawks in the Super Bowl game. Placekicker Jason Myers gave the NFC champions a 9-0 lead after scoring three field goals in the first half.
He helped extend this lead with another field goal in the third quarter. Sam Darnold then found AJ Barner with a 16-yard TD pass to make it 19-0. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye did score two touchdowns. However, he also registered an interception that resulted in a defensive touchdown for the seahawks.

The Patriots signed offensive tackle Will Campbell with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The rookie had an average season. However, he struggled to protect quarterback Drake Maye in the big clash, ending in six sacks.
Campbell led 14 quarterback pressures in the Super Bowl clash. This raised questions regading Mike Vrabel possibly changing his position. However, Monday, the Patriots coach cleared the air about the rookie OT's situation.
"Will's 22 years old," Vrabel said. "He's our left tackle. ... There's plays he'd like to have back. We're not moving him to guard, or center, or tight end, or anywher else."
