Kansas City Chiefs Linked with a Rising Superstar

The weight of suffering a humiliating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles went heavy on Quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 40-22 loss made it apparent that Mahomes needs support. As the NFL draft is approaching, the franchise has recognised the need and have a target in sight.

Pro Football Focus NFL analyst Mason Cameron suggests that North Dakota State offensive tackle Grey Zabel may be the perfect fit for the Chiefs to begin rebuilding the offensive line.

“With uncertainty and inconsistent play at three of the five offensive line spots,” Cameron writes for PFF. “Kansas City could benefit from adding a versatile piece like Zabel. The FCS standout earned a 90.4 PFF grade at left tackle for NDSU and proved at the Senior Bowl that he can handle multiple positions.”

Zabel's impressive performance leading up to the Senior Bowl likely boosted his NFL Draft prospects. The Kansas City Chiefs might need to bolster their offensive line with multiple picks, and Zabel would be a strong starting point for rebuilding efforts.

The Kansas City Chiefs' pursuit of Grey Zabel would signal a strategic approach to addressing their offensive line woes. With his versatility and ability to play multiple positions, Zabel could provide stability and depth to the unit. As the NFL draft approaches, the Chiefs' front office will likely weigh their options carefully, considering Zabel's potential to make an immediate impact. If the Chiefs do target Zabel, it would be a savvy move to bolster their line and protect Patrick Mahomes, potentially setting the stage for a stronger run at the Super Bowl title in the future, enhancing their squad's overall competitiveness.
