Uncertainty around Travis Kelce's NFL career

An insider said that the pop icon thinks there will be a lot of chances for Kelce outside of football. However, Swift cannot stress enough the emotional toll he could face.

"She thinks he has a huge world waiting for him outside football, but also worries how he’ll fare emotionally when he does hang up his cleats," the insider said on Tuesday, via Star Magazine. "It’s been the cornerstone of his life for so long now."

Kelce opened up on his future with the team on January 7. He admitted that he discussed his possible retirement with management. While his love towards the sport remains intact, he is also evaluating his physical condition.

"And I don't know, it's a tough thing to navigate," Kelce said, via the "New Heights" podcast. "But at the same time, you know, I think if my body can heal up and rest up and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18, 20, 21-week run. I think I would do it in a heartbeat."

His brother, Jason Kelce, made his feelings known regarding the Chiefs' "embarrassing" season in another segment of the podcast episode.

Kansas City Chiefs Andy Reid responded to a reporter's query on January 5, about Travis Kelce's future with the franchise. He accepted that Chiefs need time to figure out whether or not to have the tight end back for the upcoming 2026 season.

“We all love Travis," Reid said. "Trav can still play. I’m not trying questioning that part or any of it. I’m not trying to avoid your question, but I know there’s time. Last year, I was asked kind of the same thing. We’ve got a little bit of time to figure everything out, and so does Trav.”

With the team's season over, Kelce is focused on his wedding to Taylor Swift in Rhode Island.
