Mike Tomlin has stepped down as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers after 19 years, and it was the end of an era. Tomlin’s employment with the Steelers was the longest tenure of a head coach in major American professional sports.
This came after yet another quick playoff exit with Pittsburgh's wild-card loss to the Houston Texans on Monday. This was Tomlin’s seventh playoff loss in a row. He had been serving as the Steelers' boss ever since his hiring to replace Bill Cowher in early 2007. The 53-year-old departed from the franchise with two years remaining on his contract.

With the longest active coach-team partnership in the NFL coming to an end, where might he coach next? Some teams are looking for a head coach right now, including Atlanta, Arizona, Baltimore, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Miami, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and the New York Giants.
Tomlin stepped down and was not fired. If Tomlin is looking to start stacking playoff opportunities again, Atlanta would be a logical destination. Meanwhile, if he decides to stay in coaching next season, these are the teams he might be interested in.
