Story Highlights:

The Boston Red Sox defeated New York Yankees 3-0 in the three game series.

Aaron Judge hit his 26th home run of the season in the series opener against Red Sox.

The New York Yankees will next take on Los Angeles Angels in a four game series.

Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees enjoy a commanding 3.5 game-lead to the top of the American League East standings. However, they were humiliated by their arch rivals, the Boston Red Sox over the weekend as they won the three game series 3-0.

What did Aaron Judge say after New York Yankees clean sweep?

It was Aaron Judge, who took the series opener into extra innings after hitting his 26th home run of the season. But, he failed to replicate his performances over the course of the next two matches.

Following a 2-0 loss on Sunday, that completed a sweep of the Yankees by the hosts at the Fenway Park, Judge said,

We just couldn't really string those couple at-bats together and kind of drive some runs across. I feel like they scored first, every game, and kind of put us in a hole and I just wasn't able to dig out of it. Next time I gotta pull a little bit more pressure on them and get that lead to start.

Not just this, Judge even complained about his plate discipline in the three game series and said that he should have taken swings off strikes rather than instead  straying off the strike zone.

You’ve got to swing at strikes, Judge said. It usually helps any hitter when you swing at strikes. Definitely some pitches off the edge or off the edge in, you know, taking some hacks just trying to make something happen.

Aaron Judge's average, which was nearing the historic .400 mark, has seen a drop (.378) after the series sweep on Sunday.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone backs Aaron Judge

The New York Yankees have lost five of their last six games that they have played against the Boston Red Sox this month. Yankees' manager Aaron Boone is not blaming their captain Aaron Judge for the struggles against the AL East rivals.

They pitched him tough, Boone said. He had a massive hit to force extra innings the first night. That’s baseball. It’s why guys don’t hit .450 with 900 homers. You’re gonna have a weekend where they execute and they get you. … Hitting is hard. It’s hard to be perfect.

Aaron Judge is ready and past the series defeat as they would learn from their mistakes when they take on Los Angeles Angels in a four games series.
