Shohei Ohtani recently made his much anticipated return on the mound against San Diego Padres.

The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has revealed his plans after retirement and with that, he also shared what he wishes to achieve before that. The two-way phenom for the Dodgers took the mound for the first time since 2023, when he was still playing for the Los Angeles Angels. 

What did Shohei Ohtani say about his retirement?

Finally, the moment that both the fans and Ohtani were waiting for has finally arrived. Shohei Ohtani made his pitching return after December 2023. While an interview with watch manufacturer brand Seiko, Ohtani said that he wants to give his 100% till the end and should have no regrets once he hang up his boots. 

As a player, I think the countdown to the end has begun, so I have a little bit of a feeling, but I want to do it to the end. I want to spend time with the feeling that it is production from here.

I have an image in the future and I am looking forward to where I want to be, so I think the scenery of the future is the most important thing for me, Shohei Ohtani said.

It is very important for Shohei Ohtani to have an idea of what he wants to do and what he wants to become. It eventually becomes a driving force with the help of  willpower to see it through. For Ohtani, the journey to what he will eventually become and have a clear goal in his head is something he enjoys the most.

It's all about balance is what Shohei Ohtani feels. This has helped him a lot in his MLB career so far as he seeks a balance between personal and professional life. 

Shohei Ohtani to make second appearance against Washington Nationals

Ever since the Los Angeles Dodgers game against the San Diego Padres, Shohei Ohtani will be seen making his second appearance on the mound when he faces the Washington Nationals on Sunday in the weekend series. 

For the first two games, Clayton Kershaw and Dustin May will be taking the mound. After making his much anticipated return on the mound in the match against the Padres, Ohtani gave his honest reaction on his outing as a dual player. 

I’m not quite happy with the results overall, but I think the biggest takeaway for me is I feel good enough to make my next outing.

Despite having a decent outing on the mound against the Padres, the Dodgers are still considering their options for Ohtani. It's been a lengthy recovery process for Ohatni and the franchise would take things slowly.
