Victor Wembanyama delivered a standout performance in his return from injury, scoring 25 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a dramatic 104-94 comeback victory over the Golden State Warriors. The Spurs overcame a 17-point deficit late in the third quarter to secure their third consecutive win, improving to 9-8 on the season, while the Warriors fell to 12-4.

The 20-year-old French star, sidelined for the last three games due to a knee injury, played a pivotal role in the fourth-quarter resurgence. Trailing 81-64 heading into the final stretch of the third, Wembanyama sparked the rally by contributing 12 points and five assists in the last ten minutes. His near triple-double effort included 7 rebounds and 9 assists, underlining his versatility and value to the Spurs.

Rookies had the edge

Stephon Castle, another rookie, also played a critical role, adding 19 points off the bench. Six of those came during a decisive 11-0 run late in the game, which tipped the scales in favor of San Antonio. Sandro Mamukelashvili added depth with 5 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

Reflecting on the comeback, head coach Gregg Popovich said, "The resilience this team showed tonight speaks volumes about their character. Victor and Stephon stepped up big when we needed it most."

Other NBA Highlights

In Milwaukee, the Bucks extended their winning streak to four games with a 125-119 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Despite LaMelo Ball scoring a career-high 50 points — 40 of which came in the second half — the Bucks held firm. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, while Damian Lillard contributed 31 to seal the win.

Ball's remarkable performance surpassed his previous career-best of 38 points, set earlier this month. After the game, Ball said, "It’s tough to come up short in a game like this, but credit to Milwaukee for making the plays down the stretch."

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic delivered another MVP-worthy performance for the Denver Nuggets, leading them to a 127-102 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Jokic posted 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Michael Porter Jr scored 13 of his 24 points during a dominant third quarter. The Nuggets bounced back after losing three of their last four games.

In Chicago, the Memphis Grizzlies claimed a high-scoring 142-131 victory over the Bulls, led by Scotty Pippen Jr.'s career-high 30 points and 10 assists. Jaylen Wells also shone with a career-best 26 points. The Grizzlies maintained control throughout, a poignant win in the city where Pippen’s father won six championships with the Bulls in the 1990s.
