The Denver Nuggets faced a major injury scare in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers as Russell Westbrook injured his left foot. The veteran guard was questionable to return back on the court. He tried to give it a try at halftime but was in agonizing pain while putting pressure on his injured foot.

What actually happened to Russell Westbrook in Game 3 against LA Clippers?

Not just this, Westbrook injured himself first in the pre-game warmups and then attempted to play through it. He then again injured himself in the second quarter as he only managed to play for 8:52 minutes, shooting 1 of 5.

Westbrook even had one rebound and an assist to go with it with a +/- of -16. According to the latest reports, Russell Westbrook was getting treatment in the locker room.

Despite his efforts of returning back to the court, Westbrook was ultimately ruled out of the game. This happened when Denver Nuggets were trailing 90-70 when they announced this. They then had to look elsewhere as Jalen Pickett was the one given the chance to give them similar production to Westbrook off the bench.

Ultimately, the Clippers went on to secure the Game 3 with a daunting margin of 34 points as they defeated the Nuggets 117-83. If Westbrook remains out for the Game 4, then it would be difficult for the Nuggets to make a comeback and potentially risk the Clippers being 3-1 up in the seven game series when the teams head back to Denver for Game 5.
