Story Highlights:

Michael Vaughan named Mohammed Siraj as the best bowler of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy

Siraj was the leading wicket-taker of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy with 23 scalps

India capped off the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy with a stunning 6-run victory over England in the fifth Test. The Men in Blue managed to bundle out the hosts for 367 runs while they were chasing down the target of 374 thanks to a spectacular bowling performance. This victory saw the series end at 2-2 with the visitors snatching victory from the Three Lions in what was nothing short of a thrilling finish.

Siraj was India's hero in Oval Test

Mohammed Siraj was the star of the show for India as he recorded figures of 5/103 in the all-important final innings of the Oval Test and played a key role in the visitors' victory. The 31-year-old finished the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as the highest wicket-taker with 23 wickets under his name.

Now with the series concluded, former England captain Michael Vaughan picked Siraj as the best bowler of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He also picked Shubman Gill as the best batter of the series after the 25-year-old scored 754 runs in just 10 innings against the hosts, including four centuries.

Vaughan further chose India as the side which had the better series and described Chris Woakes' effort of coming out toĀ bat with a dislocated shoulder as 'heroic'. He also stated that the Men in Blue deserved to draw the series for the incredible effort that they gave throughout the five matches, however he also blamed the Three Lions of throwing away the match at Oval on Day 5.Ā ā€œIndia deserved the draw over the course of five games, but England threw it away on that last morning," Vaughan said.

The Men in Blue's next Test assignment will be a two-match series against West Indies at home which will commence from October 2.Ā  Ā Ā
