NBA legend LeBron James has once again etched his name to history books this time alongside his son, Bronny James. The duo became the first father-son pair to play together for the Los Angeles Lakers in a significant moment for the league. The duo played together on the same NBA team when the Lakers took on the Phoenix Suns in a pre-season game marking a historical moment.

Bronny, selected 55th overall by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft, made his debut on his 20th birthday. He joined LeBron on the court during the second quarter for approximately four minutes of play. Although the Lakers ultimately lost the game 118-114, the moment marked a milestone for the James family.

During their brief time together, both players recorded turnovers early on, but LeBron soon sank a three-pointer and set a screen for Bronny's own three-point attempt, which unfortunately missed. Bronny joined the Lakers after a standout season at the University of Southern California.

"It's pretty cool for the both of us, and especially for our family. It's definitely a moment that I will never forget," LeBron said quoted by Sky Sports

LeBron, who is entering the new season following a gold medal victory with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, expressed that playing alongside Bronny felt surreal. As a four-time NBA champion and the league's all-time leading scorer, the 39-year-old veteran is looking forward to more opportunities to share the court with his son when the new season kicks off on October 22.

"For a father, it means everything, For someone who didn't have that growing up, to be able to have that influence on your kids and have that influence on your son, be able to have moments with your son - and the ultimate, to be able to work with your son - that's one of the greatest things that a father could ever hope for or wish for," added Lebron.

Lebron was also seen as emotional while talking about Bronny's debut during a media conference earlier.

LeBron expressed, “When it comes to him (Bronny), I’m just at a loss for words. (I’m) just super proud of him to be able to get to this point. He’s a man, and he’s ready to go. It’s just so joyous to be able to see him grow and to know what he has been through over the last couple of years. And to just use that as motivation every single day and to get back and get to where he wanted to be.”
