After taking some time to acclimatize with the changed setup, Luka Doncic on Sunday finally showcased his mettle to the Lakers fans with a standout performance against the Denver Nuggets. Doncic registered his first 30-plus points for his new outfit and in the process took his side to a convincing victory over the dominant Nuggets. It was the performance the Lakers waited for and the reason why they splurged heavily to bring the Slovenian heavyweight on board.

Luka Doncic Highlights The 'Only' Goal of LA Lakers

Following the culmination of the game, a spirited Luka Doncic presented his thoughts on the transition and stated that he is doing the work to form the tuning with his new teammates, and the chemistry among them is only getting better. Doncic also made it known the ultimate prize for which the team is playing.

“Our goal is to win the championship, that’s our only goal,” Doncic said when asked how far the team can go.

“And I think we have the team for that. Obviously, the chemistry with me and the guys is gonna take a little time but as you saw today, I think it’s getting better and better.”

It was only their second win in the last 15 games against the Nuggets, which further highlights the fact that if they click together then there 
is no side in the world that can topple them.

While it is still too early to assert the Lakers as one of the biggest contenders for the championship, the positives that this win has brought to light and with the strides they are making, it seems they are headed towards glory and could take an unbeatable shape.

Luka Doncic Returns to Old Scoring Ways

With the stature with which he entered into the franchise, fans expected Luka Doncic to fire from the outset. The Magical Man did start on a decent note yet was subjected to criticism when the team suffered back-to-back losses against the Jazz and Hornets. However, it did not take long for Doncic to return to his extraordinary self.

“Honestly, I think you could see it with me smiling on the court and having fun,” Doncic said. “JJ told me you gotta have one of those blackout moments like you have. I think I had one. I just felt like me a little bit, so I was happy.”

Doncic hopes the Lakers will be able to capitalise on the win against the Nuggets and keep gaining confidence.

“I don’t remember when the last time was I won here, it’s very tough to play here against that team. So, to win like that, it’s an amazing win for us and gives me a lot of confidence moving forward.”
