The five-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion Ron Harper was left fuming after his son, Dylan Harper was snubbed from the top 30 college point guards. He took to his X account to voice his opinion regarding the preseason list of men's college basketball players.

What did Ron Harper have to say on this matter?

The preseason list of men's college basketball players was shared on X by College Basketball and it featured the top five point guards in the form of Mark Sears, Tamin Lipsey, Braden Smith, Wade Taylor IV, and Walter Clayton Jr.

But Dylan Harper didn't get a spot in that very list. He was a five-star recruit and was claimed as one of the top talents in 2024. However, after his snub, his father didn't hold back and reacted strongly.

"Jokes," Harper commented on the post shared by College Basketball.

He also commented on a fan's comment who also saw the same side of the picture, "They don’t play the game on paper and opinions!!!!!!”

Dylan Harper studied at Don Bosco Preparatory High School and he averaged 24.9 points during his junior year. His average in the senior year was 22.4 points, he had 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He also led the Ironmen to a 29-3 record and also won the NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship.

In the year before his senior year, he was tipped as the top overall recruit for the Class of 2024 by ESPN. In December 2023, he committed to play ball at Rutgers and the move was a success as Harper was rated as the highest-rated recruit in the program's history. In the meantime, he refused offers from Duke, Kansas, Indiana, and Auburn.

Ron Harper reveals that Dylan Harper will wear Kobes despite Rutgers' partnership with Adidas

Dylan Harper and Ron Harper took part in an Adidas exhibition match wearing Nike shoes. It was a situation for former Nike executive Jordan Rogers who said it would not happen again due to the school's apparel partnership with Adidas.

Rogers said that as Adidas partner, Rutgers will likely require both of them to support Adidas footwear during games regardless of being signed with any other brand.

But Ron Harper further clarified that his son will support wearing Nike shoes. While sharing Rogers's video, Ron commented, "I bet Dylan Harper gonna wear Nike shoes all season long!!!!!”
